also what type of background do you want for Jake and the Griffin? any themes?

Again, I trust your aesthetic, but if you need a base texture, I would probably say some kind of red for the Griffin while a sandy tan or yellow for Jake. Texturing you'll probably know better, as I'm not familiar with your design programs.
