Name: Schmendrick the Magician
Age: 38
Gender: Male
Hero or Villain?: Hero
Canon or OC?: Canon
Personality: Schmendrick likes to take the persona of a calm, caring, and wise man. Though caring, though, he is actually quite unconfident in his skills and will become frustrated when things don’t come easily. He is still rather clever and can outsmart the usual mook, but he realizes his weaknesses far too easily as well. At the end of the day, he is smarter than he thinks, he just needs the confidence to back it up.
Appearance: Schmendrick is a slender man with a large nose and fluffy, brown hair. He dresses in typical magician faire, which is a wizard’s blue robes and hats put together with obvious stitching. He also wears blue stockings with flat shoes of a similar color. His eyes are brown and usually look quite weary while he is in repose.

Brief History: Schmendrick was an apprentice magician to the greatest wizard in the world. Though not the most successful student, he was foretold by his master that he would be able to do the magic no other could. Ironically, the poor sap got caught up being a mere show magician in a roadside circus of illusion and falsity. Though he enjoyed bringing smiles to kids’ faces, Mommy Fortuna’s circus of fear suppressed his success even more. That is, until he met what was supposedly the last unicorn.
After freeing the unicorn from Fortuna’s circus, the two wandered off on a few misadventures where they met Molly Grue. There adventures continued on to find the rest of the unicorns, until they were confronted by the red bull. Knowing that the beast was searching solely for unicorns, Schmendrick used his magic to transform the unicorn in a human, a feat only his master had ever been able to pull off. From there, their adventure had to continue in the very dwelling place of King Haggard, the very villain they had hoped not to face. Schmendrick took the role as a bumbling court magician to attempt to amuse Haggard while secretly trying to find the answers to all the castles riddles.
After unlocking the secrets of the red bull’s lair and the unicorn’s location, the monster known as the red bull attacked once again, recognizing his transformed associate. It was at this time that Schmendrick was to fulfill his master’s prophecy in turning the woman known as Almathea back into a unicorn. From there, he could only watch alongside Molly as Almathea turned the red bull to the sea and freed the other unicorns. It was after this that the motley crew all said their goodbyes and parted their ways.
Little was Schmendrick to know that adventure still hated for him.
Sample Post: “Well, this is certainly a mess you’ve gotten yourself into this time, you fool,” Schmendrick scolded himself casually as he pushed past trees and undergrowth. “Really, you couldn’t have brought yourself to a fairy pasture or a castle or a dragon’s den. You just had to pick the darkest forest you could. You really don’t think ahead.”
He shaded his eyes as sunlight did gleam through the canopy of the thinning jungle. “Okay, well, maybe not the darkest woods. Still, I have no idea where I am or where I am going.” He didn’t even bat an eye as he passed through the trees to see a small village.
He hummed to himself as he observed the new location. “Well, it could be worse, I suppose,” he mused mildly. “At least I should be able to get some directions. Or at least a map.” He traipsed towards the nearest house, adjusting his hat to look as presentable as he could.
