((Jan 4th. Open to Starscream and Terra. Me? Obscure references?))
The tallish red-dressed man held a katana sword in his right hand, pointing it out before him, waving it slowly back and forth to push aside the larger leaves. Now that he had a weapon, that was so - ahem - "generously" provided by the proprietor of the game, he was feeling much more confidant. Starscream was always rather a bit of a loner. At the time, he wasn't particularly keen on sticking around in the camp. He supposed he was uncomfortable because he was certain he should have been somewhere different. Something was off, he knew that. It was a familiar feeling, he supposed, that he should be upset about being determined by his rebirth to take part in some contrived war. That was exactly his problem with the Autobot-Decepticon war, but he only realized its faults when he began thinking and acting for himself - not for his leader. Was it his destiny to repeat it? Did he do something wrong? Starscream brought his other hand to the hilt of the katana, brought it back and hacked off the tops of the leaves obscuring his vision.
This can't be right. Why was I brought here? It can't just be to repeat the events in the past.
He sneered and then whipped his blade around, departing some grass and a few saplings.
"Arhhg!"
They say that history repeats itself, but I refuse to make the same mistakes. That only created trouble. No. I know better now.
Starscream's orange eyes widened once he saw that he had revealed a small clearing in the jungle. The canopy opened up so that the grass before him was not obscured in darkness. It seemed more peaceful in there. The former-Decepticon felt his tenseness ebb a small bit, but the burning questions remained. Starscream never was able to know if the two factions he tried to unite ever did, and the fact that he was to be forced to take a side and fight again was not giving him any hopes for the prospect of peace. It was disappointing, in a word. To add to that, Starscream didn't understand why the two armies were so willing, in some cases, to do battle. It nothing like the Autobots and Decepticons. There was no thousands of years of conflict, and no real culture barrier. As far as he could tell, very few of these humans or animals knew who one another were. Why would they look to destroy one another? Unless it was self defense, the skinny man wasn't looking to kill.
Dropping his sword to his side, he cautiously ventured into the grassy clearing, thinking it might provide him some sort of sentimental hope.

To be completely honest, Terra didn't really want to fight. She had decided not to be a hero or a villain anymore, she just wanted to be a person. Well, now she was normal, wasn't she? The blonde noticed quickly that she could no longer control the earthly elements when she arrived in this place. The teen wasn't sure how to feel about it. All she ever wanted was to be accepted, but now that she was forced to fight others to the death, maybe being normal was overrated. Without her powers, how was she supposed to live through this experience? She was a rather slender girl without much muscle on her. If someone on the other side really wanted to, they could probably just snap her in half with ease. The thought crept into her mind and caused her to physically shudder. At least she managed to grab a knife to protect herself with.
Good thing she brought it with her on her way to the jungle. Terra decided she needed to get away from the settlement for a while, hoping a quick walk would clear her head. Truthfully, she was worried that her fellow teammates would throw her out at any minute. She wouldn't exactly blame them either. A scrawny teen against a hulking brute wasn't going to be a good combination. The blonde managed to convince herself that as long as she took a little walk, she'd feel a whole lot better when she headed back. Of course, now that she was actually in the jungle, she was having second thoughts. She inhaled deeply as if it was going to give her a sudden burst of reassurance, breathing out a quiet sigh before continuing her trek through the dense area. As she continued walking, she swatted away leaves that decided to get in her way.
"Maybe this wasn't such a great idea."
The words she uttered were mumbled, and immediately after she said them, she wished that she hadn't opened her mouth. What if someone heard her? Once more, she began regretting coming out to the jungle. Large round eyes fell upon the clearing that lay just ahead. Both of her hands clutched her knife tightly, and the thin blonde took careful steps in the clearing. "It's fine, you're gonna be fine," she whimpered in an attempt to reassure herself. Oceanic eyes looked around this way and that until she froze, realizing she wasn't alone out here.

"Hm?"
Not more than a few seconds after entering the open area, did Starscream become alerted by something. His gripped tightened on the sword and it was brought to an angle more parallel to the ground. Because of his past confrontation with the hyena, he was more expecting of violence. But once his reddish eyes spotted what had come to the clearing with him, he felt his grip loosen. The end of the blade stopped once it hit the ground. Starscream did not take any further steps into the lighted area. He was surprised, and not at all in a pleasant way, that someone who looked so young also was a part of the war. Something like that just didn't sit well with him. The blonde girl who stood across the grass from him was no one he recognized. He didn't know who was on what side. There was no way to tell. Faction symbols made things a lot easier - as well as a lot harder at the same time. Somehow, he didn't think the younger human was a threat, or wanted to be for that matter. Against what every ounce of his Decepticon training was telling him, he drove the pointed end of his sword into the ground in order to show he wasn't intending to use it.
"I haven't seen you at the base," Uttered his rasping voice as he tilted his head somewhat.

The sound of a voice pierced the young girl's ears, causing her to flinch. Her light eyes studied him with caution, uncertain of what to think of him. They had something in common at least. Terra hadn't seen him around her settlement before either. Her gaze hovered over to the man's sword. If he really wanted to attack her, wouldn't he want that thing at his side? Before speaking to the male, she thought it would only be fair to lower her own weapon. The younger of the pair bent down and put down her knife. It was almost a relief to not have it in her hands, not to mention it probably wouldn't do her much good against a sword.
Just be cool. She lifted herself back up and looked back at the stranger. "Can't say I've seen you around home sweet home either," Terra responded, allowing a hand to rest on her hip. She could only hope that she sounded more confident than she really was at the moment. "Then again, I haven't really bothered with talking with anyone much. Gotta do my own thing, y'know?" She hesitated for a brief moment, determining whether or not she should introduce herself. In the end, she decided that she would at least tell him her name. "Name's Terra by the way."

Seeing the girl drop her own weapons, Starscream instantly was able to decide that this would not need to be hostile. Just to be fair, he let go of the katana's handle and stepped foreword in front of it. It was so rare in the old war that two would just give up the prospect of a scrap so willingly. Maybe lifeforms weren't as violence-prone as Starscream assumed. Then again, Megatron wasn't exactly the best sample on such a subject. If it were Megatron he stumbled across, he would have been threatened by then (and probably questioned as to why he was still living). Starscream was rather taken aback once he was spoken to. To be honest, he was only expecting them to quickly part ways. It crossed his mind once if Terra might have been on his side, before he flat out refused to bother with "sides".
"I suppose," A blunt response came from the thin male, thoroughly unable to think of a satisfactory response.
He brought his head over his shoulder, staring into the dark part of the forest, before turning back. Starscream reminded himself of the name, before he had to beg the question:
"I have to assume that you just woke up here in this place as well? It doesn't seem right that a hu-" Former-robot caught himself before sounding completely nuts, "a child would be so deep into such a wilderness. Maybe I'm wrong."
While speaking, his orange eyes swept cross the uninviting forest. Starscream made a point to leave the "sides" thing out of it. As he turned his head back and placed his inquisitive gaze on Terra, he decided to go ahead and name himself.
"I'm Starscream," He stated, then remembered he was now among the race of men, "It's probably a strange name to you. I'm just far, far away from home."

The blonde herself was surprised that she stuck around to speak with the stranger. Maybe she never heard of 'stranger danger' before. Then again, she figured that if he wanted to hurt her, he would have done so already instead of dropping his weapon. She couldn't be more relieved to see that he let the weapon go, reassuring her that this wasn't going to turn into a brawl to the death. Even if the guy was thin too, she imagined that she would lose pretty quickly if they had to fight.
She nodded when she heard that he assumed she had woken up here in the first place. "Yep, woke up and I was here all of a sudden. It hasn't a fun experience so far, but hey, I guess I've dealt with worse. I'm used to traveling by myself anyway, and I'd rather be out in the jungle by myself than around the settlement," she said, lifting her shoulders upwards in a casual shrug. She went from place to place on her own for quite some time thanks to her powers. Now that she was powerless, it made sense for someone to be concerned about why a girl her age was wandering on her own. Especially in a fight to the death.
Starscream. Sure, it may have been out of the ordinary, but Terra recalled that she had met others who preferred to go by names stranger than that. "Starscream? Hey, I think that's a pretty cool name, and I've heard of a lot of weird names before." Her large eyes glanced over to the sword at Starscream's side, then back at the man himself. "So, Starscream, what are you doing out here anyway? Hunting or something?"

Worse things? Starscream supposed he'd been through worse himself. Even the confusion and moral troubles that came with being reincarnated into a human form were something he'd never dealt with before. But moral troubles and loose-loose situations seemed to be constant even before...this. Maybe he was overreacting? The physical pain of being horribly dissolved by basically pure energy was decently bad. At least that stopped once his body scattered. Starscream somehow doubted he'd ever stop thinking about the moral wrongness that was this competition - not until he escaped.
His eyes flicked up once Terra's voice came back to him. Even if he was getting a little better at acting less like a grumpy Decepticon, he still had trouble knowing how to respond when someone was making conversation at him. He was both annoyed and somewhat grateful by the advance for friendship by the human kids. Starscream wasn't sure if he liked or disliked the reminder. Maybe he could just be thankful he was being acknowledged as an equal. His challenge now was not to appear awkward, or worse, scary. Now that he couldn't easily squash everyone, it might be easier to look less brutal.
"Me?" It took Starscream a moment to come up with a reason for him being out there was that easy to explain, "I was just thinking. I'm not exactly familiar with anyone here, so I don't think they'd like to listen to me complain. Besides, I'm not afraid of this place."

Starscream's excuse for coming to the jungle was good enough for Terra. She could easily empathize with him. The blonde didn't know anyone on her side either, at least not well enough to confide in them. Even before she was forced into this fight, there were very, very few people Terra trusted. If she wanted to earn her teammates' respect, she came to the conclusion that she should keep her inner thoughts to herself instead of aggravate the others. She'd rather not get booted out yet again.
"That makes sense. I haven't really gotten to know anyone either, so I don't think they'd like to listen to me. They probably think I'm just a stupid little girl anyway, but hey, I guess that's just the way it is. I'm sure I'll find someone awesome enough to hang out with while this whole thing is going on. Y'know, when we're not busy getting attacked or anything." The teen offered a shrug once she finished up.
"Whoa, whoa, wait a minute. You're not scared of this place? Like, aren't you be worried that some giant animal is gonna pop up out of nowhere and attack you? I guess you've got a better weapon than I do just in case something does freak you out, but still."

Starscream kept his mouth silent for the time Terra spoke. However, he cautiously approached a pace or two nearer, although visibly minding his distance. The pale man scowled a small bit once it was mentioned that her teammates weren't interested in listening to her on much of any level. Sounded like Megatron and the other Decepticons. They were generally not a fun bunch outside of battle - especially when you were the group's scapegoat. But something else came to his mind. If he was forced to judge the characters of the people he just happened to stay at camp with, he didn't believe that they would give off such a feeling. Terra seemed outgoing enough that no one on the hero's team would give her second thoughts (at least to Starscream's knowledge). Given that and that he'd not seen her with them, he quickly put two and two together. He didn't say it, but he realized they must have been staying on separate sides. As he figured that out, an expression close to worry crossed him. Starscream tried not to let on that he was dreading future conflict.
"Oh no. I'm not afraid."
The gaunt warrior shook his head. For a second, he allowed the sound of the forest to fill his head.
"No. I'm past being afraid. I've gotten used to loose-loose situations."
Now that was just getting upsetting. Starscream, if he wasn't know better in his predicament, might have guessed being reincarnated into a creature such as a human would have brought more fulfillment. Needless to say, he was let down. Something needed to put an end to this anxiety, but he was at a loss for silver linings.

There was an expression on his face. Terra couldn't quite identify it, but she decided it couldn't be good. The blonde went against commenting on it though. Asking too many questions could lead to trouble. Plus, she didn't feel like angering the pale male by interrogating him for making a face. Blue eyed girl simply proceeded on with the conversation. "I've been in lose-lose situations before. I guess I could sorta relate," Terra responded, glancing towards the ground as she spoke. She didn't really want to talk about the past, though the present didn't look much brighter. Her past was a troubling subject to talk about. She made quite a few mistakes fearing that she would be rejected.
She tossed some stray blonde strands from her face, tucking them behind ear. "I guess the jungle really isn't so bad when everyone is out to kill each other, isn't it? It's actually pretty nice if you think about it."
((I'm sorry I took forever. >.< ))

"I don't see what's so nice about it. I'm not looking foreword fighting."
Starscream's voice was a little sharper as he shook his head disapprovingly. It didn't feel like killing was quite "his thing" anymore. The gaunt man was frustrated about his pediment in general and didn't much like to be told it was positive in any way, shape or form. But a feeling washed over him, making his sneer vanish. He needed to get over his spite. He was how old now? Going on mopeing and dopeing wasn't the mature thing to do. Besides, Starscream would rather not look scary or threatening if he could help it. Terra was providing him some decent company; he'd kick himself later if pushed away someone who seemed to have a bit of an idea of what he was going through. It was difficult, given his personalty, but Starscream really did want to become a better person (even if his aloof tenancies would probably always be there).
"Sorry. That was just-" The red clad man hesitated, not having a clue how to explain before uttering a human-concept he barely understood, "Hormones?"
The former Decepticon was completely oblivious to how ridiculous that sounded coming out of him. Even his orange eyes spoke of cluelessness. How does one go about shooting the breeze? He wasn't too often the initiator of conversations unless he was dishonored or threatened by something. One thing occurred in his mind;
"If I could only fly, I would be out of here."
