((Jan 3rd. Open to all. Hunting thread.))
Rancor hunted for himself. He was king but he hunted for himself. To hunt for him was an insult to one of his favorite activities. Usually, he believed that killing an animal was grunt-work, but doing so for food was one thing he made an exception for. There was always a certain satisfaction in the conquest. Often, it was nothing personal. It was so unlike any killing he might order in the Warren, which often had a reason (warranted or not). Unprovoked violence was only something natural. Rancor did take pride in going the way nature intended, or at least what his twisted idea of "nature" was.
But as always, his bright red pelt was a real bother. A real tiger has it's bright orange color because the grass is also orange. There was nothing so crimson for Rancor to hide in. He needed rely on his speed, power and intelligence to make up for what his horrible camouflage ruined. In his age, his speed was leaving him, but he'd be damned if he couldn't pull down something huge if it was stupid enough to let him get too close. Rancor's sharp feline eyesight and ears detected something that interested him greatly. It was of a decent side and that was all that mattered to him. The saber tooth didn't care who or what he was going to kill - in this jungle were no friends of his. There was nothing wrong with ridding the world of those he did not know or like. And the thing that happened to be unfortunate enough to become the huge feline's target was a jungle-dwelling tapir. Rancor was wise enough to approach the trunked creature from a distance and toward the wind.
Seeing that the odd animal had not yet picked up smell or sight of him, Rancor continued a low crawl toward the target.

To Vurugu, a hunt was just another kind of struggle between life and death, and, though still not as fun as a good fight, was still cause for excitement. And this hunt would be quite a challenge. She was used to hunting on the grasslands and riversides of Africa. This jungle was entirely unknown. And she was used to hunting beside her clan mates. Now, she was alone.
But, undaunted as always, Vurugu crept through the jungle, her grey fur blending in with the shadows and her low-set body, hunched down, slid beneath the leaves and shrubs with barely a ripple to mark her passing. She paused as she caught sight of a large mass of red fur, some distance from her, intent on some unseen prey. A psychotic grin formed on Vurugu's face as she got a better look at the creature. Such power! The monster feline would make one good opponent in a fight. But now wasn't the time for that.
Later, my crimson beauty, she thought to herself. She froze when she saw a creature hidden in the brush just behind the feline. A Capybara had hidden itself when Rancor passed, and had managed to avoid being seen. But not by Vurugu. Moving as carefully and quietly as she could, the hyena circled around the large rodent, intending to ambush it while it was distracted. But she'd wait until the big cat had made his move first. It wouldn't make a good impression if she startled his prey, and it got away.

Penny and Amy went to do some hunting and Penny was trying to teach her the secrets to hunting. Penny sat beside Amy and said " the first step to become a good hunter is mediation, clear your mind from everything and focus on the task at hand, secondly don't make a sound when you are going for him or her and then grab it once you are certain of yourself and watch my paws and claws, you what to tuck them away so you don't make any noise, do you understand this ?" Penny explained properly to Amy then demonstrated and hunted a cat but sent him away.

Amy was learning and taking in everything Penny taught her. She hunted okay but some got away. " oh Aunty Penny I can't do this it's hard " Amy said. Penny got upset with her and then Amy said " don't be a quitter huh?" and Penny nodded. Amy kept trying and trying.

Hulk let out a low growl he snapped a small tree in half, ready to use it as a spear. The green giant would have to take notes from his son, if he ever got to see him again. Now, Hulk normally liked dogs much like his old self liked dogs, but not these spotted dogs. Hulk frowned as he came up behind Penny and Amy, letting out a low grunt.
"Find anything yet or are you just standing there talking?" he grumbled at them, his green eyes narrow.

Penny whispered to Amy who was naturally scared " get behind me ill handle this".
Then she turned her attention to The Hulk and said firmly " Now we don't mean any harm to you and no we are not finding anything in particular, I'm here to teach my niece how to hunt and if you could find it in your heart to respect that, I'd appreciate or if you want to push my buttons, you may be 10 million times bigger than me but I've never been the bigger one but I've won all my fights so I'm just warning you Hulk leave us alone or face Penelope Perdita Dearly".

Rancor could sense something come to him from the side. His ear rotated to follow the movement. The animal was a size big enough to be potentially threatening. Barely tilting his head, his green eyes moved to one side so much that his whites were viable. Managing to spot the hyena, he watched her for a moment before she began circling around, obviously focused on something else. Rancor brought is attention back to the tapir, which was not yet aware of him. His rough pads slid across the earthen forest floor as he suddenly was almost thirty feet closer - close enough to be picked out from the background.
As luck would have it, before he could sneak in close enough, a shrill voice pounded over his ears. The not-so-distant voice was enough to get the tapir to stiffen in attention. It wasn't startled by the voice, but by seeing the striped pelt of the hybrid cat. The piglike mammal bolted. Rancor moved, even if he wasn't in the most strategic position. The saber tooth didn't simply give up. The tapir was pursued for close to twenty meters before the tiger managed to catch up with it as it zig-zagged through the brush. The prey item was quicker than Rancor had anticipated but once his claws hooked into the hindquarters of the creature, it was yanked back. Rancor jumped and his body was tossed to one side as he clutched the animal's back end. The feline landed in some leaves on his shoulder, continuing to hang on to the thing was a shrieking out death cries. He parted his jaws and bit into the tapir's throat as soon as the opportunity presented itself.
Rancor released his front paws and stood up correctly, the still-living animal being held from his jaws. Now - who was so rude as to cause the inconvenience of having to chase his target? The large feline was too eager to find out that he didn't even wait to properly let his catch bleed out before he began moving. With head held low because of the weight of the tapir he was dragging, Rancor prowled toward the source of the incessant chatter.

"I honestly doubt you could take on the Jolly Green Giant," a voice hissed quietly, directed at the dalmatian that had spoken to the Hulk. Sullivan had entered the jungle with spear in hand, an unamused expression stuck on her face as she approached a handful of vaguely familiar faces. She blew a breath of air upwards in order to remove some stray strands of hair from her face. This wasn't exactly the hunting party she would expect. Dalmatians weren't hunting dogs. Beagles and retrievers would have been more suited for that. Or strong, viscous dogs. A list of suitable breeds rolled through Tara's mind, though she discarded her thoughts for the task at hand.
Aquamarine eyes rolled furiously as the Bostonian shook her head. "We're supposed to be hunting, not standing around and talking. You know how you die? By standing around and talking." Her brows narrowed when she finished speaking, and she shook her head with a sigh. We probably scared off all the prey around here because some people had to open their big fat mouths. Great. "I'm going to go hunting by myself, since going solo is probably the only way I'm going to get anything done around here."
The teen turned away from the small group, taking light steps as she started heading deeper into the jungle. She was sure she'd be able to find something around here somewhere eventually. Her grip on the spear tightened. She had to be ready for anything out here.

Luckily for Vurugu, the Capybara she was stalking made the mistake of staying completely still when the sudden chatter broke out, eyes fixed on the red feline's muscular form. Still as it was, it was a simple task for the hyena to fasten her fangs around the back of its neck, and snap her jaws shut, shattering its bones. She let it drop, glaring around, wondering who was stupid enough to be so noisy during a hunt. A quick glance after the crimson feline revealed he'd caught the creature he'd gone racing after, and wasn't too happy. The hyena grasped her own prey, and drug it beneath the bushes, carefully concealing it.
Stepping back out of the bushes, she followed in the big feline's wake, intent on satisfying her own curiosity, and hoping she might get the chance to see the measure of the feline's fighting skills.

Hulk lets out a booming laugh "I-I-hahaha- don't think you can even make a scratch on me little puny puppy" he chuckled, leaning forward and grinning at the two dogs. "So do it come and face-" he paused, then started to sniff the air. Something smelled off to him. Then a new voice was heard.
I honestly doubt you could take on the Jolly Green Giant."
"That's Hulk to you", he corrected, giving the young girl a once over before returning his stare to the dogs. "But you're right," he grumbled, shifting his spear to his other massive hand. The teen then left after another moment, and Hulk was left with the two spotted dogs. "I would shut up if I were you," he warned, then sniffed the air again as the smell hit his nostrils. something was stalking them he was sure of it.

"One, I hardly know you, and two, I don't kill unless I really have to. I'm not a monster," Hulk growled. He lifted his head up, sniffing at the air again, trying to find the owner of the mysterious scent. "You smell that? Something is coming" he grumbled, his jade colored eyes flicking about as he sought to catch a glimpse of whatever it might be.

Knuckle Joe had meant to get up early to go hunting but he forgot completely and slept late. Now he was in the jungle, hoping to get something hunting done. He hasn't brought weapons since he was confident in his martial arts skills. He saw the person called Hulk and two other dogs. He walked over to them.
"Hello. Mind if I join you?" He asked.
